About The Artist
Born 1941 in Aachen, Germany; attended primary and secondary schools in Aachen and Luedenschid; read Geography & English at Marburg University.
Living in Scotland since 1967 and having worked as outdoor education teacher and professional IFMG mountain guide. Often working in Germany for long spells.
Studied higher art at school, thereafter self-taught, no exhibitions apart from Aachen and Luedenscheid schools.
On and off spells of painting: working mainly with water-colours, often on normal writing paper for special effects; occasionally acrylic or mixed media; ink drawings, pencil, rarely using oil.
Wide ranging styles from moody abstracts, still lives to semi-realistic colourful landscapes as well as emotionally charged pictures - some of them could be described as naive. Very few works A3 size, most A4 or smaller and they have been sold the world over from Australia, Asia, Europe to America.
Commission work very welcome; any subject: but be prepared for a wait and surprises!
Not all paintings are for sale, but sale prices are attached where appropriate.
Large prints of the originals can be provided.
